Board of Trustee Election Results


The recent election for our Board of Trustees for the next 3 years saw 8 candidates seeking election for the 5 parent representatives.

Election Results:

Ricky Bates 63 votes

Jill Kennerley 60 votes

Peter Hegarty 52 votes

Lina Taulima-Bidois 49 votes

Simon Hall 38 votes

Tracey van den Raaij 35 votes

Murray Mansfield 23 votes

John Teague 19 votes

Ricky, Jill, Peter, Lina and Simon were elected. The other 2 members of the BOT are Lisa Gibson (staff representative who was elected unopposed), and myself as Principal. This team is charged with the governance of the school for the next 3 years.

The Chairperson until the first BOT meeting of 2011 is Ricky Bates. He was elected by the members at the first meeting of the new board last night.

332 voting papers were posted out and 88 were returned.

We thank all candidates who stood for election and all those parents who took the opportunity to vote.

A reminder that meetings are open to the public and the next meeting will be held on Wednesday 16th June at 7.00pm in the library.

Thank you to Kerry Newton who has been on the board since the last election and took over as Chairperson part way through this time. Kerry has been a huge supporter, and took a valuable leadership role in the school. Thank you again Kerry!

Stories for Fishing Competition

When the Minstrel visited the school he put out a challenge to our students to write a fishing story.

Winners from respective classes were;

Rm 4 Shyanne

Rm 9 Imogen

Rm 6 Vicki

Rm 3 Devin

Rm 8 Tyla

Rm 5 Cindy

Rm 7 Samantha

The overall winner who won the fishing rod was Tyla , but congratulations to the class winners and all participants.

New Entrant Teacher


As mentioned in the last newsletter we have appointed a new teacher who will take over Room 1b from July. Charlotte Williams will be here visiting on Friday 11th June and we hope all parents of our 5 year olds in that class will take the opportunity to meet with her.
