Clothing needed

Kia ora e te whānau,

Now that we are in the winter months we need some support to keep our tamariki warm and dry.

Raincoats/Jackets

Please send your child every day with a warm layer and a waterproof jacket or raincoat, ideally with a hood. We send children out to play in most weather unless it is pouring down. Being able to play outside is better for their health and fitness, helps them focus in class and also lessens the spread of viruses. All classes also are still doing physical education outside daily. If your child does not have a jacket please let Ms Waghorn or their classroom teacher know as we have a supply of quality jackets from KidsCan that we can distribute.

Lost Property

We would welcome help from parent volunteers to sort out the school lost property, it is bulging at the seams. This would entail going through and checking for any named property and setting that aside for teachers to give back to children as well as general sorting and folding to make it more manageable. Keep up the naming of clothing it is really helpful.

Changes of clothes

We are now completely out of any spare clothing in sizes 7 – 14. We are in particular need of track pants, shorts, underpants and leggings in these sizes. If your child has any school spares at home please wash a return ASAP. If you have clothes your child has outgrown we would be very appreciative of any donations. If your child is in the junior school please ensure that they have a bag with a full change of clothes in their bag every day. As we have no spares left we will have to send children home if they are too wet to return to class if they do not have their own change of clothes.

Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou,

Meg
